Dry Eye Treatments

Tear Care: TearCare® is a quick, non-invasive, FDA-approved treatment for dry eye caused by Meibomian gland dysfunction. It uses controlled heat to melt oil blockages in the glands, improving oil flow into the tear film and stabilizing the eye’s surface. This helps relieve dry eye symptoms, enhance comfort, and improve vision. The procedure is painless, requires no downtime, and provides immediate relief. It is especially beneficial for individuals with chronic blepharitis, dry eye syndrome, frequent styes, or chalazions, as it helps clear trapped oils and reduce inflammation, restoring healthier gland function and overall ocular surface stability.

Punctal Plugs: Punctal plugs are tiny inserts placed in the tear drainage openings (puncta) of the upper and lower eyelids to treat dry eyes. By blocking tear drainage, they help retain moisture on the eye surface, improving comfort and reducing the need for artificial tears. The quick, painless in-office procedure allows patients to resume normal activities immediately. There are two types: temporary collagen plugs that dissolve in about three months and longer-lasting silicone plugs that can be removed if needed. Treatment often begins with two plugs and may increase to four.

Nulids: NuLids is an FDA-registered, handheld device designed to treat chronic dry eye and blepharitis by gently stimulating, exfoliating, and cleaning the eyelid margins. It uses a soft, oscillating disposable tip to remove biofilm and debris, stimulating meibomian gland function to improve tear quality and reduce eye irritation within 2 minutes.

Zest Treatment: Zocular Eyelid System Technology (ZEST) is a fast, in-office, 10-minute, p,ainless treatment for dry eye, blepharitis, and demodex mites, acting like a deep "shampoo" for the eyelids. It uses an okra-based gel to gently exfoliate, remove biofilm and debris, and reduce inflammation, often providing immediate relief.

Home Care Kits: Customized and hand picked products by our doctors to alliviate dry eye symtoms and support other treatments given in office.
